Our RLSS Trainer Assessors deliver professional National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) across Ireland. With extensive experience in the Adventure, leisure, aquatics, and health & fitness industries, our trainers provide high-quality lifeguard training, practical rescue skills, and real-world pool safety knowledge

Whether you are taking your first NPLQ lifeguard course in Galway, Cork, or the West of Ireland, or renewing your qualification, our experienced trainers are committed to helping you develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to become a professional pool lifeguard.

Our courses are delivered at a number of locations including Kingfisher Renmore in Galway and District Health & Leisure in Cork, making it easier for candidates across Ireland to access professional RLSS lifeguard training.


Get To Know Rachel
RLSS Trainer Assessor

  • Rachel is an RLSS Trainer Assessor who delivers the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). She runs lifeguard training courses at Kingfisher Renmore in Galway as well as across the West and North West of Ireland, helping candidates gain the skills needed to work as professional pool lifeguards.

  • Rachel has over four years of experience in the leisure industry, including two years working as an RLSS Trainer Assessor. Her experience allows her to bring real-world lifeguarding knowledge and practical insight to every NPLQ course she delivers.

  • Rachel has worked as a pool lifeguard, Swim Ireland Level 2 Swim Teacher, and leisure centre supervisor. This hands-on background gives her a strong understanding of pool operations, lifeguard responsibilities, and aquatic safety, helping her deliver practical and engaging lifeguard training.

  • Rachel holds the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and is a qualified RLSS NPLQ Trainer Assessor. She also holds a QQI Train-the-Trainer qualification, ensuring all training courses are delivered to a high professional standard

  • Rachel enjoys seeing learners develop lifesaving skills and grow in confidence throughout the NPLQ course. Watching candidates progress and successfully qualify as lifeguards is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.

  • Outside of training, Rachel enjoys going to the beach, spending time outdoors, and playing football for her local club.


Get To Know Klaudijus
RLSS Trainer Assessor

  • Klaudijus is an RLSS Trainer Assessor who delivers RLSS NPLQ Pool Lifeguard courses in the South of Ireland, primarily in Cork at District Health & Leisure.

  • Klaudijus has been delivering RLSS NPLQ lifeguard training courses in Cork for nearly three years, helping train new lifeguards for swimming pools across Ireland.

  • Klaudijus has over 15 years of experience working in the health and fitness industry, giving him extensive knowledge of aquatic safety, emergency response, and leisure facility operations.


  • Klaudijus first qualified as a pool lifeguard in the UK in 2014. After gaining valuable experience working across multiple facilities, he decided to become an RLSS Trainer Assessor so he could help train the next generation of lifeguards and improve safety standards in swimming pools nationwide.

  • In addition to delivering NPLQ lifeguard courses, Klaudijus also teaches swimming lessons and delivers personal training and fitness classes both on-site and on demand.

  • Klaudijus is passionate about developing confident, capable lifeguards through high-quality instruction, hands-on rescue training, and supportive assessments. He takes pride in delivering engaging and practical lifeguard training courses.

  • Klaudijus learned to swim as an adult, which he shares to remind people that it’s never too late to learn swimming or lifesaving skills.


Get To Know Callum
RLSS Trainer Assessor

  • Callum is an RLSS NPLQ Trainer Assessor who delivers RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses, including regular lifeguard training at Kingfisher Renmore in Galway, as well as courses across the West and North West of Ireland. Callum also works as our Trainer Centre Co-ordinator, supporting the organisation and quality of our training programmes.

  • Callum is from County Sligo and is currently studying Health Science & Physiology at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo. Alongside his studies, he has built strong experience working within the aquatic and leisure industry.

  • Callum has over five years of experience in the leisure industry, progressing from a part-time lifeguard to a member of the management team in a leisure centre. This experience gives him valuable insight into pool safety, lifeguard supervision, and leisure facility operations.


  • Callum has gained lifeguarding experience in Ireland, the UK, and the USA, giving him a broad perspective on lifeguard training standards, rescue techniques, and aquatic safety practices.

  • Callum is a qualified Swim Teacher and Swim Coach and currently coaches with Sligo Swimming Club. He is also a former competitive swimmer, having competed at regional, national, and international levels. In addition, Callum holds the RLSS NPLQ qualification and the RLSS NPLQ Trainer Assessor certification.

  • Callum enjoys meeting new people and helping candidates develop the skills and confidence needed to become effective lifeguards. Sharing his knowledge of aquatic safety, rescue techniques, and emergency response is something he finds extremely rewarding.
